Graham Brady was elected MP for Altrincham and Sale West in 1997, and is Chairman of the 1922 Committee. He has served as Shadow Minister for Schools, Parliamentary Private Secretary to Michael Howard as Leader of the Opposition and Shadow Minister for Europe. In 2008 he became an independent governor of Manchester Metropolitan University.
Prior to his election to Parliament he was Public Affairs Director of the Waterfront Partnership, having previously worked at the Centre for Policy Studies and Shandwick plc, where he trained in public relations. Graham was co-author of the CPS pamphlet, "Towards an Employees Charter, away from Collective Bargaining".
