From Labour to… ?

I have no direct interest in the future health of the Conservative Party. My allegiance is to Labour; more accurately, to Tony Blair. But it is precisely because of that allegiance that I now also have an interest in the Conservative Party’s health. First, because it is to the benefit of everyone that we have, once again, two parties competing with a realistic prospect of electoral success. And second, because the Blair experiment is now coming to an end, and with that comes the end of any lingering hope that it is possible to be, as it were, right wing on the left.
