Housebuilders pledge to reserve London homes for UK buyers

FTSE-listed home builders have pledged to restrict the sale of new homes to Lond-based buyers according to City A.M.

The companies - which include Taylor Wimpey, L&Q, and Barratt London - have offered to restrict the sale of new build homes under £350,000 to UK-based buyers for the first three months, before opening up sales to overseas buyers.

The move comes months after the Centre for Policy Studies published "Homes for Everyone", a report wirtten by Chris Philp MP which called, among other things, for 50% of new build homes to be reserved for British-based buyers to prevent young people being "squeezed out of the market".
