31st July 2012 is the 100th anniversary of the birth of Milton Friedman. To celebrate this, Professors Richard Epstein, Niall Ferguson and Deepak Lal, and John Redwood MP comment on the impact of Friedman’s life and work.
Professor Richard Epstein of the University of Chicago offers a personal tribute, Professor Deepak Lal explores Friedman’s legacy in academic economics, John Redwood MP explains relevance of Friedman’s ideas to the current economic & financial crisis, and Professor Niall Ferguson Friedman’s significance for free-market thinking. They then answer questions provided by audience members at our ‘Friedman at 100’ event held on Tuesday 3rd July.

Niall Ferguson, MA, D.Phil., is the Laurence A. Tisch Professor of History at Harvard University and William Ziegler Professor at Harvard Business School. He is also a Senior Research Fellow of Jesus College, Oxford University, and a Senior Fellow of the Hoover Institution, Stanford University. He is the author of, inter alia, ‘Empire: How Britain Made the Modern World’.
